Part 2 (disordered members only)
--Diagnosed/Self-diagnosed?: I was "officially" diagnosed at the LIJ Eating Disorder Unit in Long, Island New York in September 2004 (No, I'm not trying to show off. I'm simply giving those of you who are skeptical because of my age something concrete)
Do you eat more food in a binge than most people would eat in the same amount of time? Yes, I average from 800-1500 calories in a binge episode. The most I've ever eaten is 2500 calories in one sitting
Do you lose control during the binge episode? Most definitely
Have you binged and compensated(purge/lax/fast/excessive exercise) at least twice a week, every week, for three months? Yes. I've been actively binging and purging or fasting, mostly purging on an average of 3-6 days a week, sometimes twice a day since January of 2004
Is your self-worth based on how you look or weigh? Yes, and it has been for as long as I can remember.
[5a] Purging type - does your compensation regularly involve vomiting, laxative abuse, diuretics, or enemas? Yes, I regularly purge after a binge episode. I've tried laxatives but they were too messy.
