And then, when you finally do buy food, get mad at yourself for not eating it all before it goes bad?
I tend to get excited when I have a well-stocked fridge. I'll actually eat a decent amount of food for a few days, then think "I'm eating too much," and not touch anything for a while. Next thing I know, all my vegetables are starting to get squishy. Then I'm mad at myself for wasting food, and I put off grocery-shopping not only because I don't want to have food around to eat, but because I feel like it'll only be a waste of money and time.
Sad thing is, I tend to be a heck of a lot happier when my fridge is full, even if I'm not eating anything. Anyone else seem to feel that way?
I love food. I love healthy food. I'm just working on actually enjoying it.
My compromise is that I'm currently living off nuts, dried beans, rice, canned foods and home-baked bread. If I feel hungry, I cook. If I'm too tired to cook, I don't eat.
How do you feel about your food supply? When are you happiest? Do you prefer fresh food or food that you can store away? Why?
