I've eaten a certain type of candy almost exclusively for months, and I do mean almost exclusively. To avoid triggering anyone, I won't name it, and naming it is not necessary for the purpose of this discussion. When I was fifteen, I was diagnosed as anorexic. I only ate candy at this time as well. I'm 22 now, so this has been going on for quite awhile. My weight is in the healthy range, because I eat enough of this candy. However, when I was fifteen I was underweight. I'm absolutely terrified to eat anything else. I sometimes refer to myself as a junk food anorexic. I guess this candy is just a "safe food" of mine. I was just wondering if any of you eat certain foods that you think is not typical of people with eating disorders? Have you ever felt like a fake because of your food choices? Is it typical for those with anorexia or other eating disorders to only eat one type of food? I don't know anyone with an eating disorder IRL. Is my problem more common then I think, or does anyone have similiar experiences?
