Why is 1200 calories the recommended minimum amount? If you're deficient, you're deficient. If you eat 1200 calories a day, and burn 2000, you're still deficient 800 calories. If you eat 2000 calories, and burn 2100 calories, you're still deficient 100. If you eat 3500 calories, three thousand five hundred freakin' calories, and burn 3700, you're still deficient 200.
Yes, supposedly a lazy person who does nothing but sit there all day burns between that and around 1500 just by existing, but that doesn't change the fact.
And it can't be for vitamins, minerals, etc. If you're nutrient deficient (which most people are), you're nutrient deficient. That's what multivitamins are for.
Has this chunk of what should be obvious information somehow slipped past me these 4 years? Does anyone know? What is it about this magical minimum number?
